My Story

Hello! My name is Velma, and I come from a family of five children, of which I am second to oldest. I have fond memories of taking vacations with my family, and spending lots of time together and with friends over the years. My life was forever changed after my dad passed away when I was 15, and he is still one of my biggest inspirations.

I am thrilled to be the House Mom here at JRM! I had begun asking God for some kind of change in my life, when I became aware of the opportunity here in Jamaica, and I knew it was for me! I love cooking, crafting, and being in close relationships with the people around me, and being able to do all of these things while serving the children and Aunties is a treat!
